June Update

Jackson

We just celebrated Jackson's 8th birthday!  I can't believe he's so big!  It's seriously so crazy to me.  He's getting baptized on Saturday.  He's been doing really well lately.  He really likes to read if I let him he'd stay up all night reading with a flashlight.  His favorite books are captain Underpants and Dogman.  He loves video games and Pokemon.  He loves to swing and jump out of the swing.  He loves swimming.  He is starting to swim really well.  He can go off the diving board and swim all the way to the edge.
For Jackson's birthday we just had a small party with a few of his neighborhood friends.  We just barbecued hot dogs and the kids played in the backyard.  We bought a couch and we had a bunch of giant boxes from it and the kids just played in the boxes and made little forts with them.
Jackson has been really sweet with Bubba lately.  They've started playing a lot more and Jackson gives him piggyback rides a lot.

Lincoln

Link has been really struggling lately.  He's been having a really hard time with summer.  He's just not getting any sleep and he's so grumpy.  He's been so mean lately.  When he gets mad he just hits people or slaps them really hard right across the face.  He's been so mean to Jackson and Bubba lately.  It's been a rough summer so far.  I'm kind of excited for school to start.  Link just does a lot better with a routine and he just doesn't do well without sleep at all.
Link just finished TBall.  He really liked it and he was a really good player.  He is so fast that he was usually the first one to the ball.  He had  a couple of friends on his team so he really liked it.

Bubba

Bubba is getting so big.  He is so funny!  He's really started to love playing with friends.  He really likes his cousins his age and he loves his neighborhood friend that is his age.  He's also been really struggling without getting enough sleep.  Summer has just been so hard to get the kids in bed and Jackson just doesn't need as much sleep as the other two its tough to get them to sleep and let Jacks stay up later.  Bubba loves cars right now.  His favorite toys are little mini toy cars that come with little tracks you can build.  Bubba thinks he's so big.  He follows the neighborhood kids around and just thinks that he's 10 years old.
Bubba refuses to potty train.  I've tried a few times and he just won't do it.  He hides and has absolutely no desire to potty train.  It's kind of rough I'm getting kind of sick of dealing with diapers.

Poor baby face planted in the driveway. And in this pic he had the stomach flu really really bad and threw up like every 20 minutes all night long.

Yosemite and Sequoia

Last week Jordan had a work conference in LA so we made a vacation out of it!  He drove on Sunday all day and went to his conference then I flew out on Wednesday to meet him.  I have never flown by myself before and I'm really not the most independent person so it was a little scary but I was proud of myself for doing it.  I flew into Long Beach and the flight was really rough so I got so sick and ended up throwing up after we landed.  Jordan came and picked me up and we drove to Yosemite.  It was like 6 hours away so we didn't get to go to the park that night.  The next day we woke up super early and went to Yosemite.  The weather was really cold and rainy the entire first day we were there.  We decided to do the Mist Trail knowing we'd get wet anyway.  The mist trail was such an amazing hike.  There are 2 waterfalls on the hike and they're amazing.  The trail is really close to the first waterfall and since it was so full with all the spring run off it put out so much mist that we were completely soaked even wearing ponchos.  It was such a beautiful hike but pretty hard.

When we finished the mist trail it was pouring so we just hung out in our car and ate lunch then went and walked around lower Yosemite Falls.

After our walk around lower Yosemite Falls we hiked to Mirror Lake.  It was pretty but it was so cloudy and gloomy and raining that there wasn't that impressive of a reflection in the water.  Our first day was really fun but so exhausting.  My phone showed that we walked 16 miles.

The next day we woke up early and got to Yosemite pretty early again.  We drove up to Tunnel View really quick and took a few pictures.  I was tired and sore when I woke up from all of our hiking the day before but because we're crazy we decided to hike upper Yosemite Falls and Yosemite Point.  It was the hardest hike I've ever done in my life I almost died on the way up.  The hike was so beautiful it was totally worth almost dying.  There were so many beautiful views and the waterfall was amazing.  The waterfall so full of water that it was amazing and the spray from it soaked us.  It was so pretty!  The hike was so steep going up was hard but going down was even worse.  My knees hurt so bad by the time we got to the bottom that I almost starteed crying.   The hike took us all day so when we were done we drove to our hotel near Sequoia.

The next day we woke up early and went to Sequoia.  We were both so tired and sore from our hikes the 2 days before so Sequoia was fun but we didn't enjoy it as much as we should have because we were just so tired.  The trees were really beautiful and amazing.  We hiked up Moro rock which was an amazing beautiful view.  It was just a ton of stairs so it was so painful on my knees to go down.

Inside a hollow tree.  There is a hollow tree that fell over a long time ago and it's so huge you can walk in it.  People lived it for a while.

We drive home the next day took us about 11 hours.  It was such a fun trip!  Yosemite and Sequoia were both so amazing and beautiful!
