September 2016

September went really fast!  We've been loving the cooler weather and spent some time outside.  The boys are all doing great and getting huge.

Jackson

Jackson is doing great in school.  I've been so surprised by how well he's done and how much he's learned and matured just in past 6 weeks since he started school.  When he started he could only count to 10 and didn't really know any letters or sounds.  He couldn't write his name at all without having it written out for him first and even then it wasn't legible.  He now knows almost all his letters and sounds, he can count to 13, and he's getting so much better at writing his name. He can write Jacks all by himself without it being written out for him.  He still working on the -on part but he'll get it we've been practicing and his handwriting is getting a lot better.  I've been making in watch the Letter Factory everyday and do his homework and it's helped him so much.  I think a lot of his retention problems were really just maturity issues now that he'll actually sit and practice and pay attention he's doing great.  I think he's still a little behind his class but he's really started to catch.  I was so worried about him when he first started I'm so happy that he's doing so well.  He says he plays with boys named Bridger and Asher.

Jacks has started speech.  He really likes it a lot.  They pull him out of class for 5-10 minutes once a week so it's not a ton.  He really enjoys it though because they give him "speech bucks" if I sign his homework and then he gets to buy little prizes with them.  He's doing great they've been working on the L sound with him and he's actually doing great.  In normal conversation he still never says his L's correctly but when I sit and doing his speech homework wit him he actually does it.  I'm so impressed because last year working with his speech therapists he couldn't even say it even when they were helping him and showing him what to do with his tongue.  Hopefully he'll get it down soon.  They send little worksheets and just lists of works home with him and I'm suppose to have him say them 5X's a day.  I'm not as consistent with it as I should be but we try.  It's just hard because by the time we do his homework and I make him watch the letter factor to help with his letters and then do his speech work it usually takes an hour and half so by then he's kind of done and when I try to bring up more speech work later in the day he gets a little stressed.  I'm actually really shocked by the amount of homework they give kindergarteners.

Jacks played soccer this year and his season just ended at the end of September.  I honestly don't know if he enjoyed it or not.  He doesn't love actually playing but he likes talking to his team mates.   He was really timid and didn't really go after the ball.  If it came to him sometimes he kicked it sometimes he did nothing.  He mostly just followed different kids around and talked to them but didn't really try to play the game at all.  He's still young so hopefully he'll be a little more interested next season.

My kids have always had things that they just loved.  We went through a Winnie the Pooh phase, TMNT, Transformers.  They don't really seem to love anything right now.  They just mostly want to play with their friends.  They still love to watch Scooby-Doo but that's really their only obsession right now.

Lincoln

Link is doing alright.  He's been struggling lately he just never gets enough sleep and he's so grumpy.  It's just how he is now basically from 12-5 is his grumpy period and he's just basically not fun to be around for the whole afternoon.  He still really needs a nap he just won't take one.  I kind of feel bad for the poor kid but at the same time he drives me absolutely crazy because he's such a difficult child.  He just gets so mean and grumpy and nothing makes him happy.  About 5 o'clock he gets a second wind and then starts acting crazy and won't go to bed until at least 8.  He's just really hard right now.

In the mornings he's really funny he is usually in a good mood after we drop Jacks off for school.  It's kind of fun having a break from Jackson.  I usually get Harrison to take a short morning and nap and I get to spend sometime with just Link.  Our fun morning time is probably the only thing that keeps me from killing him during his grumpy time in the afternoon.  It just reminds me is actually a really fun sweet boy just sleep deprived.

Link is so sweet to Harrison he really is so nice to him to gives him toys and kisses and always tell him he loves him.  He's never mean to him it's so sweet.

Harrison

Harrison is 6 months now!  He's getting so big it makes me so sad!  He is moving around like crazy.  He hasn't started crawling yet but he definitely gets where he wants to go.  He rolls and army crawls all over the place.  He's so cute it's funny.  He puts everything in his mouth right now so it's kind of scary.  I have to be really careful to keep small things off the floor because he finds them.  He pulls the cords out from under my tv stand and chews on them which is also scary.

Harris is still a terrible sleeper.  I'm trying to get him to sleep in his bed still.  He's starting to nap in his bed a little bit but it's kind of a battle.  It's just really really hard because he keeps getting sick and I hate make him cry it out when he isn't feeling good.  We're going on vacation in a few weeks and that will just mess him up again anyway so we're just going to wait until we get back and then really try to get him to sleep in his bed.  Hopefully he'll starting sleeping better once he's sleeping in his bed.  He's just had it really rough with sickness which doesn't help.  He had the stomach flu a couple weeks ago and was throwing up and now he has a bad cold with a fever.  It's just so hard to keep him healthy with 2 other little boys in the house.  They love him so much that they are always grabbing his hands and playing with him so if they have anything he gets it.  And lately since school started they're always sick!

Jordan and I haven't really been up to much lately. I'm still not working a ton.  I actually really miss working but I also think being home with my kids is the right thing to do right now.  They're all just at really hard stages right now and it would just be really hard for them and Jordan and I at the moment to have me gone.  I really just wasn't prepared for how much harder 3 kids would be than 2.  We're getting used to it but I just can't handle work at the moment.

K so monthly picture dump.  Some of these are actually from August because I hadn't put them on my computer yet when I did my last post.

Dress up with friends

Jackson's first day of school!  If I were a good mom I would have taken a ton of pictures and followed him in his classroom and got pictures at his desk and with his teacher but yeah I'm not and we were running in as the bell rang so we just didn't have time.  I got this one after school.

First day of Kindergarten

Best buddies

I love this picture!

Jordan had to help haul hay a couple of weeks ago so we took Harrison for his first trip to the farm and the boys rode the tractor.  They loved it!  They both told me they want to be a farmer when they grow up.
Tractor ride

He was a little distracted by all the fun stuff at the farm.

His favorite thing to chew on are remotes!  I actually like this picture though because I have a picture just like this from when I was  a kid sitting in my dads lap eating the remote.

He got these in speech with his speech bucks and he thinks their just great he tried to wear them to school the next day.

We finally made it up to the mountains hiking!  It was a lot harder with 3 kids but still really fun.  We went to Timpanogos Falls.  It's only about a mile and not super steep so it was actually a perfect hike for them and the leaves were perfect.

Jacks loves to ruin pictures with weird faces

Seriously the best picture that Jackson has ever taken.  He never smiles like this!!  He's done with soccer now.  It was a lot of fun watching his games.  I'm kind of sad they're over.

Jacks always volunteered to play goalie and he pretty much just sat or laid in the goal.

I honestly don't know if he enjoyed soccer.

7 Years

Jordan and I have been married for 7 years now! Kind of crazy. Last month Jackson had to have a little shield with a bunch of pictures of himself throughout his life for school. So it got me looking through all my old pictures and thinking about the past 7 years. It's just crazy how much things have changed in that time. When we got married we were poor college students, now 7 years later we both have college degrees, big person jobs and 3 little people. We've lived in a crappy apartment, built our first house, sold our first house and bought our second house, all in the same city.
I'm so lucky to have Jordan he's such an amazing husband and dad.  He's a really hard worker and always puts our families needs first. I don't know how he puts up with my crazy.
Lots of engagement pictures
