Harrison 2 Months

I took Harris for his 2 month well check last week and the poor little guy has more problems.  At 6 weeks old I took him for an ultrasound to check his hydronephrosis that was found in vitro in my ultrasound at 22 weeks.  They found that he still had 2+ hydronephrosis in his left kidney.  So basically it means that he has a blockage in his left ureter (the tube that connects the kidneys to the bladder) that is causing fluid to back up in his kidney.  His pediatrician referred him to a urologist up at primary children's hospital so we're going in August to do another ultrasound and then see the doctor.  Most of the time kids just grow out of hydronephrosis but sometimes they have to do surgery to fix it.  It's only a 2 and the scale goes up to 4 so it isn't horrible so hopefully he'll just grow out of it.  We just have to watch for UTI's.

At his 2 month appointment he hadn't gained very much weight.  He only weighted 10 pounds 12 oz and dropped from the 35 percentile at 2 weeks to 5th percentile at 2 months.  His head size also significantly dropped from the 30th to the 15th.  He was 24 inches and was still in the 53 percentile for height.  The doctor was a little worried that his head size dropped.  He said it was weird though because if it were he's just skinny because of genetics his head wouldn't have dropped.  But if it was caused by him not getting enough calories usually weight is effected first then height then head size last.  It's just weird that his head and weight dropped but not his height.  The doctor told me to try supplementing with formula and I'm taking back next week for a height, weight, and head check so hopefully he's grown a little.

Other than all of his little health problems he's doing well.  The doctor said he's right on developmentally.  He's starting to get better coordination with his hands.   He loves to suck on his hand and loves toys now.  He really likes to lay on his play mat and swat at his toys.  He's really starting to be happy and smile and talk.  He still doesn't nap a lot during the day and doesn't sleep great at night he always wants to be held when he sleeps.  He;s a little cutie.

May

I can't believe how fast the past 2 months have gone!  Harrison is 2 months and it's so weird; he still seems so little but at the same time it feels like he's been here for so much longer.  I don't know what we did without the little guy. The boys have finally kind of gotten used to each other and they absolutely love each other.  Jacks and Link love to talk to Harrison and he smiles and laughs at them. We've been really enjoying the summer so far and staying busy.  Harris is finally getting old enough that I feel like we can take him places.

I feel like we're finally starting to adjust to 3 little boys.  It's still really hard but it's getting easier.  I still won't take them a lot of places like the grocery store by myself and it's still hard even with Jordan.  I feel like Jacks and Link are getting used to less attention though and they love Harrison so they just deal with it.  Getting everyone ready is still really hard.  I feel like we're late for everything because getting my kids all ready and in the car just takes forever.  Link usually refuses to get in the car, and Jacks won't put his shoes on and Harris has a massive blow out or decides he's hungry as we're walking out the door.

Harrison 2 months

Harris is so tiny but he seems like he's grown so much.  He still isn't sleeping very well, he wakes up a lot at night.  Most nights he goes to bed around 9 or 10 then wakes up at 12, 3, and 6 to eat but some nights it's still every 2 hours.  His daytime schedule is really weird.  Some days he only takes a few little 15-30 minutes naps.  Those are hard days because he usually gets really tired and grumpy but just won't sleep for some reason and I don't get anything at all done.  Other days he'll take one really good nap and then a couple shorter naps.  He still refuses to sleep in his bed!  It's really frustrating!  He's starting to get to big for his swing so it's kind of hard.  He just wants me to hold him all the time.  Most nights he'll start the night either in his swing or bed but then after that he won't go back in his bed I usually just end up laying on the couch and sleeping with him.  It's not the safest thing but it's the only way we ever get sleep and since he's still up so much during the night it's just not worth fighting him to sleep in his bed at this point.  It takes at least 45 minutes to get him to sleep in his bed he just wakes up after 10 minutes and I have to keep getting him and putting him back and I usually at some point just end up giving up and sleeping on the couch with him.  As soon as he's sleeping a little better at night I'll probably try to get him to sleep in his bed.  At this point though I'm just going to wait because I don't get enough sleep as it is and it's really hard with 2 other kids.

During the day he's still eating every 2 hours but will occasionally go 3 hours.  He's such a little cutie.  He has started smiling a ton!  He's always in a really good mood first thing the morning and he's just super cute.  Jacks and Link always love to talk to him as soon as they wake up.  Link loves to wake him up.  He always runs up to him and says "Is baby sleeping?"  He'll poke him and say "Wake up baby."  It makes me furious because he's such a horrible sleeper but at the same time it's really really sweet.

Harrison is kind of a mommy's boy already.  He just always wants me to hold him.  He will be just fine when someone else until he sees me or hears my voice then he kind of starts fussing until I take him.  Harrison is so cute I just can't get enough of his cute little smiles.

Harrison's first hair cut. He cried the whole time and we didn't end up finishing it just trimmed the top.

This one is to cute

Link

Link has seriously been such a stinker lately.  I don't know if it's because of Harrison or what is going on with him.  I kind of just think it's his personality.  Summer has been kind of hard on him too.  We've just been so busy and we've been staying up so late the last couple of weeks.  It's just hard for my boys when it stays light so late.  They just don't want to go to bed.  A lot of our neighbors stay out late too and they it's just hard to get them to leave their friends to go to sleep so we usually just end up letting them stay up until 930.  Link has had such a hard time with it.  He won't take naps anymore so there are days he's just super grumpy and mean but still can't sleep and won't go to bed at night.  It's been really hard.  Today was a horrible day with him!  He was just so grumpy and mean all day he won't listen and was just mean.  He wouldn't take a nap at all but then he fell asleep at 6 o'clock in the car.  He's just so overly tired from the past of weeks that he just crashed.

Link is so stubborn!  We've been kind of working on potty training but he just has no desire to do it so I've kind of stopped really pushing him.  We're so busy and never home during the summer so it's just hard so I'm just going to wait until the end of the summer to really start pushing potty training again unless he shows some interest.  The other day I got really excited because he took off his diaper and brought me underwear and tole me he wanted to wear it.  He immediately peed in his underwear so I got excited for nothing.  It's been so frustrating.
Link has been a little punk lately but he really is a sweet kid.  He is so funny.  Everything he does is pretty much just hilarious but naughty.  He really likes other kids.  He has made some new friends in our neighborhood and he just absolutely loves his friends.  He always wants to play with them.  He tells me 50 times a day that he wants to play with his friends.  He just runs down street over to his friends houses and tries to find them to play.  He actually walked right into our neighbors house a couple of weeks ago without knocking or anything.  He walks in their garages and backyards.  I've told him a million times he can't do things like that but he just doesn't really listen to me. He just absolutely loves his friends and he's really sweet to them.

Link is so sweet with Harrison.  He doesn't really know how to play with him and he can be a little rough with him but not on purpose.  Yesterday he hit him in the heard pretty hard with a toy gun and then later landed on his head a little.  He just doesn't quite understand what he can and can't do around Harrison.  He loves to talk to him.  He always brings him toys and binkies.   He's so sweet to him.  First thing every morning he wants to talk to Harrison and give him a hug. Link calls Harrison Spider baby.  Link says he's spiderman and Harris is spider baby.  That's pretty much his stamp of approval.  One of Jacks and Link's favorite things to do right now is built forts with pillows and blankets.  The love to include Harrison in their forts and they'll build around Harrison so he's in their fort.  It's really sweet.

Jacks

My little Jacks is growing up way to fast!  We put him in some summer sports this year. Right now he's doing Smart Start T-Ball.  He absolutely loves it!  It's been really good for him I think.  He goes with Jordan and they just do little drills to teach them how to play t-ball.  He really likes it a lot.  We bought him a mitt and they gave him a shirt and a baseball hat and he just loves them. Later in the summer he's going to do swimming lessons and then Smart Start Soccer which is the same as the T-Ball he's doing just drills to teach him how to play.  Then in the fall he's going to play soccer on an actual team.  I think he'll like it but he's such a shy timid kid that I worry he'll just worry and won't have fun.

Jacks has been doing great with Harrison.  He really likes him.  He's so sweet and loves to talk to him and wake him up to talk to him.  Jacks thinks it's awesome when Harrison smiles at him.  It's really sweet.  He does funny things and tries to make Harrison smile and laugh.  He is so sweet.  He really understands how fragile Harrison is.  He still does some rough things around him and he's had some near misses and kicked him on accident a few time.

Jacks has been doing a lot better with our horrible sleep schedule then Link has.  He sleeps in a lot later than usual but he's always in a pretty good mood.  Jacks has made a lot of friends in our new neighborhood and he's been loving the summer and running around the neighborhood with his friends.  We've been doing  a lot of play dates lately with his friends and he plays with the neighbors so he's just been absolutely loving it.  He's such a social kid.  He loves friends and he's such a sweet friend he'd do anything for his friends.  He also gets hurt by his friends.  Kids can be so mean and he sometimes takes it personally.  He's also so forgiving.  The only thing that makes him sad is that they aren't playing with him anymore.  They can say anything or do anything to him and he just immediately forgives them.  It's one of his best qualities he is just so sweet and loving.  He never holds a grudge.  He really is a sweet kid and a great friend.
Jacks is obsessed with nickel mania right now. We've already been 3 times in the past month.

Not much has changed with Jordan and I.  My maternity leave is almost over and I'm excited but really sad at the same time.  I still haven't decided what I'm going to do.  I might go back to one day a week or I might just cut down to PRN at this point I really don't know what to do.  I'd miss working but Harrison is just such a horrible sleeper that I don't know if Jordan can handle it and I don't know if I can handle losing that much sleep.  And of course I'd miss my sweet little baby.

Jordan has been doing good.  His job has been really stressful lately.  He's been great dealing with working full time and the kids.  The boys have been crazy but Jordan has been so helpful with the kids.  He's such a great dad and boys get so excited when he gets home.  He's been awesome taking Jacks to t-ball and practice with him in the back yard.  Link always wants Jordan home.  He's been waking up a lot later lately and Jordan is usually already gone for work and he always asks me "Where's dad?" or "Is dad at work?" and I'll tell him at work he usually says something like "Why?" or just pauses for a minute and says "OH"  It's cute.

I think this summer is going to be really fun.  We've done a few fun things in May.
Pretty typical they refuse to let Harrison sleep.

For memorial day weekend we just did our usual go cemetery. Jordan's grandma and my grandpa are in Orem and Jordan's grandpa and my grandma are in Spanish fork so we always go to both cemeteries. My grandma's 85th birthday was over the weekend so my mom had a big party for her with some of my cousins. It was fun to get together with them and celebrate with my grandma.

My boys are enjoying the heat lately and have been swimming and running through sprinklers almost everyday. They absolutely love the Springville splash pad.

We went and hike the grotto over memorial day weekend with the boys codon Henry.

Walking on the tail. Link loves to ride on a scooter with some help. Is probably kind of dangerous but he loves it.

My boys love to play with Harrison's play mat. It's really annoying actually he can't even lay on it alone. They call it the baby hide out.

We went up to Gardner village to see the woodland faries. They were kind of cute. There weren't a ton of fairies to see but the boys liked it.
