Things are so insane right now! Social distancing has been rough. My kids have done okay with online school. Link has a lot of work to do and he gets bored about half way through so it's been hard to get him to do it. Jacks has a good amount of work but he's doing really well and he's mostly been really good to get it all done without to much forcing. We all did really well until about the end of last week and then my kids started going really stir crazy and this week has been a huge struggle. Link just misses friends a lot and likes to tease his brothers and he's just grumpy. Jacks has been pretty good. Bubba has been really bored and just super grumpy. He's so little he doesn't really realize what's going on.
Work has been kind of crazy. My work doesn't have any cases of COVID yet but it's just been busy and weird and different. Jordan is thankfully still working. He goes stir crazy at home so I think he'll struggle if he is forced to work from home.
We've been trying to get outside as much as possible so we don't go insane stuck at home. It's hard though when you can't even go to a playground. Bubba keeps begging me to go to the park and it's hard to explain to ho him why we can't go. All then National Parks are now closed so that is really sad. We wanted to go to Capitol Reef but it's closed now.
We went to Antelope Island with Jesse's family. It was a nice day and it was fun. We saw a ton of bison and the kids loved throwing rocks in the lake.
We've been going on drives just to get out of the house lately. We drove to Utah Lake one day and spent and hour throwing rocks in the lake and the kids were in heaven.
Bubba turned 4!! He was so excited for his birthday he was going to have his first friend party this year we already had it planned out with a power ranger theme. But then Corona hit and we had to cancel it. He was so sad he wanted to have the party so bad. We still tried to make it fun for him. Jordan took the day off work and we did a pinata. When I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday he answer was always a pinata. He loved it it seriously made his birthday. He loved hitting it so much even after all the prizes were out he just kept pounding it. After his pinata we went on a hike to Battle Creek falls. It as a fun little hike and then we went home and he chose Culvers for dinner and then had cake and ice cream. I felt so bad that I couldn't make his birthday as exciting as he'd hoped but we still managed to have fun even if it was just us.
Link's favorite thing right now is fishing. He begs me to go everyday. I took them a couple of days ago to a pond by our house. We caught 2 fish and the kids were so excited about it. Link caught one and Bubba caught. Link wanted to stay all day but Jackson was so bored. Jacks likes it for about half and hour then he's done. Harrison was so excited and proud of himself for catching a fish. We cooked that night when we got home. Jordan has no idea how to fish or fillet a fish so I had to do it and it was disgusting. I really don't want to catch a fish ever again, but with Link begging all the time I'm sure we'll be back at the pond by next week.
We're surviving the quarantine so far. The kids have been fighting and teasing like crazy so it might be a miracle if we get through this with them killing each other. I can't believe things are so crazy right now and we're seriously praying that this ends soon.
