Jackson
Jackson had a rough month in January. He broke his right thumb and had to have surgery. He broke his thumb on a Saturday morning and we spent the whole day at doctors offices and the hospital. I took him to the doctor first and they then sent us to the hospital for x-rays then to the er for them to straighten it out. It was really bent and he freaked out about having it straightened. I had to hold him down while 2 nurses and the PA all tried to get it done. He was screaming so loud that random staff kept coming into the room to make sure everything was okay. I'm pretty sure the entire ER heard him. They straightened it out and put a splint on it and told us to go to the doctor Tuesday.
I had to take Jackson to the doctor on Tuesday to have his thumb looked at. The doctor said he was still 35 degrees off from where it should be so he needed surgery. They did surgery the next Monday. We had to be at the hospital at 6:15. He went into surgery a little before 8. The actually surgery was only about 15 mins. They straightened his thumb and put 2 pins in it and put another splint on. He has to have the pins for 2 weeks then they're going to take them out in the surgeons office and they'll put a cast on for 3-4 weeks. He did really good with surgery. He was so brave! When he woke up after surgery he was really upset because they had both of his hands wrapped up. They had an IV in his left hand and he was freaking out because he thought both of his hands were broken. He was in a lot of pain immediately after surgery. After the first couple of hours he did really well. He mostly only took tylenol and ibuprofen for the pain and he's done really well. He hasn't been in any pain the past week. He's been dealing with having a broken thumb really well. He's only been really sad once because his friends were playing something he said he couldn't do. He's been writing with his left hand at school and hopefully doing well.

| I made him a special Harry Potter blanket for surgery because they said he could have a comfort item in surgery and he loves Harry Potter. The hospital gave him a stuffed snake that he really liked. |

I kept Jackson home from school M-TH after his surgery. He's been doing really well at school since he went back he hasn't had any pain really. He has started to like reading lately which has been awesome! He use to really struggle but he's been so good lately. He's been reading in his bed before he goes to sleep and he read a whole captain underpants book in 2 days.
Lincoln
Link has been doing really good. We've been really sick for a couple of weeks so we haven't done that much and he missed almost an entire week of school. He's doing really good in school. He's going to be playing soccer this spring and he's really excited. He's really excited for his birthday in a couple of weeks. He wants to have a Jurassic World party. He loves dinosaurs right now. He's starting to read a little bit. He can read some of the Fly Guy books. Mostly sight words and he has them memorized but he's starting to get how to put letters together. He can read most 3 letter words if he really tries. We're working on it and I think he'll be reading pretty well by the time he starts first grade. He's really good at math and can do addition and subtraction pretty well. He picks up a lot from Jackson. They talk about math and science and things their learning in school it's really funny to listen. They're both smart little guys.
Link seems to have a lot of friends at school and I can't even keep up with who he plays with. We've had one of his friends over a few times but suddenly he doesn't play with him as much as he used to at school. He's such a social little guy making friends comes really easy to him.

Harrison
Harrison is getting so big. He is such a crazy little man. His loves dinosaurs and books right now. H loves to read books and likes to just grab giant stacks of books and just scatter them all over our entire family room. He is such a funny little boy. Things he says a lot: "That's a good/bad job" "I want a new mom"
He's starting to grow out of being a mommy's boy. He's been really good to go to nursery lately and he's not really afraid to talk to people anymore. He actually loves to talk to random strangers in stores or where ever we go. He's starting to be really social. He thinks he's as big as his brothers and tries to play with them and their friends. He really wants to go to preschool. He gets a little sad when his brothers leave him for school. He loves stickers and coloring. He loves to wear pj's all day and won't go anywhere without his blanket. He is absolutely obsessed with this old yellow care bear blanket that was my older brothers when he was a baby. He takes it everywhere with him and he doesn't care that it's dirty and old and falling apart. He won't go to bed without it and drags it all around the house. He even tries to take it in stores with him sometimes I let him but most of the time I make him leave it. He doesn't really like taking naps anymore and mostly only takes them when he's sick. We've worked on potty training a little bit but it's not going super well so I'm putting it off as long as possible. I know he could do it but he's kind of lazy and just doesn't want to. I think I'll start pushing it after he turns 3.
